The Journey

The Aglow cross journey started from Mannheim on February 22,2020. Then the cross was taken to Munich, the powerhouse of Bayern or can be labelled as the fire of whole Germany. Interestingly Jesus was arranging the whole one week to carry the cross along with the statue of Mother Mary to 6 different families. The almighty waved the green flag for the prayer on 24 th February, start of the week and showering miracles by bringing us together all the 6 days. “One should glorify the name of Jesus and work for him not just during his good days but also in hard times. Then the Lord will perform miracles”; beautiful words by Benny Punnathara, the founder of Shalom Magazine has so much importance in daily life.

The prayer gathering took place in 6 families and interestingly in different locations of Munich. Specifically, praying in 4 different languages, German, English, Malayalam and Tamil remind us something very important – Coming together in faith in the name of Jesus, breaking the chains of borders and languages. It was happening during that week.

The prayer gatherings in Passionists Monastery in Pasing and St. George parish in Taufkirchen were remarkable during that week. When the cross was placed in the worship hall in the Monastery, the happiness on the faces of the whole community of almost 34 including Germans, Croatian and other nationalities were visible. It was like being part of a long journey, to work for His Kingdom. There is no reason to have hatred for others but there are many reasons to love each other and to have compassion just as our Lord taught us on the cross.
